The Manhattan its a classic and easy-to-make cocktail. Only has three ingredients (Angostura bitters, rye whiskey and sweet Vermouth), but the flavor is a lot more tastier than that.
This drink is originated from New York in the Manhattan's club, in the 1870's, and it was invented for a banquet hosted by Churchill's wife, Jennie Jerome, in honer of the presidential candidate Samuel J. Tilden. The banquet was a success and so as the cocktail.
The Manhattan is traditionally strained into a cocktail glass (but can also be served on a rocks glass) and garnished with a maraschino cherry, giving it a sweeter taste.
